McIntyre is probably the next challenger to Roman Reigns and the Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble so I figure this is gonna be a short easy win for him at Day 1. The Miracle on 34th Street match on the Christmas Eve episode of Friday Night SmackDown was a good match so I feel it will be a shorter repeat of that. Unless you want to count the Excalibur like storyline that had McIntyre going after Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss to retrieve his Sword Angela “from those blasted fiends”. This match practically has no real build in my eyes. So, a Happy New Year to everyone reading this, and here is the match card and my prediction of WWE Day 1. I personally hope that it creates some interesting tension and storylines leading to the Royal Rumble 29 days later, but I don’t want to shoot the gun and talk about that yet. It’ll take place on the 1st of January, obviously, and on a Saturday night too. I think that’s an awesome concept, and is a refreshing change to the TLC format that was shelved in favor of this. WWE Day 1 is a new concept and it will be the first time the company holds a Pay-Per-View event on New Year’s Day.
